Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Provide and execute the Canadian tax compliance needs of multinational corporations, such as; tax return and tax provision.
- Work directly with clients and members of the team to implement tax advice to non-residents of Canada.
- Provide tax advice to Canadian businesses expanding abroad such as how to perform; acquisition structuring, financing transactions, corporate reorganizations and planning for repatriation.
- solve and understand client problems and introduce clients to new tax planning strategies.
- Mentor and aid junior staff to grow within the organization.
- Participate in internal professional development events, such as preparing and facilitating technical learning and development issues
- Other related duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Accounting or Finance.
- An accounting designation and/or Law Degree.
- Completion of the In Depth Tax Course, or Tax degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in public accounting with a minimum of 3 years in Corporate Tax.
- Strong knowledge/ experience working in international Tax.
- Expert knowledge of Canadian income; corporate tax return preparation and review, tax research and drafting memoranda.
- Experience working with a diverse mix of clients.
- Expert with tax research methods and databases.
